Wow. It's been one day shy of a month since my last post.

...And I thought fall quarter last year was busy. Pah!

Well, I really don't have the time right now to post a proper entry, but I do want to make one point clear: as busy as I am, and as much as college seems to be "out of control" at times, I am currently in love with my life.

I've recently read "Song of Myself" by Walt Whitman. If you've never read it before, start reading it now. (Warning: it's a sixty page poem and takes about two hours to read, so try to read it during break or something!) If you are a person who is willing to try new perspectives and eager for good literature, then it will change your life. I promise.

I no longer see the world in black and white, and I'm really questioning my faith and trying to figure out how to be more "personal" with God and with myself, if that makes any sense. (It probably doesn't, but that's okay.) A few major events have occurred in my life recently, so perhaps that's why I'm so different now. I don't know.

Well, I have to go. I'll try to keep up with my posts from now on. Tchuss meinen Freunden.

Damn it's been awhile since I've posted!

So I was in Canada this weekend with ONUMB, and wow was it a rush! I think everyone who was on it will agree with me that even though we lost a lot of sleep and sanity on the trip it was still enjoyable. I especially liked Sunday night and Monday morning because those were the only times we were able to explore Montreal....let me just share a few of my personal highlights of the trip with you. (That would be easier, eh?)

1.) Hearing my first genuine "eh?" in Canada at 9:30 in the morning on Saturday from a University of Guelph staff member, i.e. "Tired, eh? Me too."

2.) Watching one of the drunk and painted Canadian guys run around the University of Guelph's football field wearing a bando hat and plume.

3.) Arriving at our Holiday Inn hotel in Montreal late Saturday night and getting to sleep (if only for a few hours) in a really comfortable bed.

4.) Seeing the University of Montreal's stadium for the first time.

5.) Walking briskly to a McDonald's with Stephen through a forested bike path, ordering food from McDonald's with Stephen's French skills, power walking back through the bike path, getting lost in the path, freaking out in the path, and finally finding our way back to the buses via running through the path with a bunch of confused Montreal citizens staring at us.....all within a period of about 30 minutes.

6.) Seeing Blitz, the bird mascots for the Montreal Allouettes, containing Dr. Bates' head in his beak.

7.) Arriving back at the Holiday Inn after the game knowing we had the rest of the night off.

8.) Stumbling upon an Italian restaurant in Montreal with Stephen, Alex, and Ashley, and eating the best pizza of my entire life.

9.) Sharing a bottle of '82 white wine with Stephen, Alex, and Ashley in the restaurant and feeling gooooood.

10.) Alex, Ashley, Stephen, and I grossing out Tyler and Jack when they walked into the hotel room to the sight of us making out passionately on each bed....we were waiting for them ;)  ***By the way, it was Stephen and I on one bed and Alex and Ashley on another, just so there's no confusion....

11.) Sleeping in for Monday morning.

12.) Touring Montreal on Monday and seeing the Basilica and Chinatown.

13.) Sleeping on Stephen during the entire trip back home.

14.) Getting to sleep for a whole half hour in my bed before my 8AM class Tuesday morning.

As you can tell, my trip was eventful, and surprisingly I've already recovered and managed to get back into the swing of things. I kinda feel like a super woman right now, for I never thought I could handle so much in so short an amount of time.

Today is a beautiful day too! I took a walk about an hour ago even though I've got two tests tomorrow. I don't care; I need this freedom, damnit!

Exactly 3 weeks from today is my birthday, by the way. I'm going to be 20 years old!!!!!

Yesterday was my first day of classes as a sophomore at ONU, and it went very well. I like what Denise did in her most recent post, so I'm going to do the same . . . .

Mondays: 8AM---American Lit.; 1PM---Interpersonal Communications; 4-6PM--Marching Band

Tuesdays: 8AM--American Lit.; 10-noon---English Studies (the "boot camp" class for all English majors, according to my prof.); 6:45-9:45ish--Exceptional Learner (gross!)

Wednesdays: 1PM--Interpersonal Communications; 4-6 PM---Marching Band

Thursdays: 8AM--American Lit.; 1PM--Interpersonal Communications

Fridays: 8AM--American Lit.; 10-noon---English Studies; 1PM--Interpersonal Communications; 4-6 PM---Marching Band

On top of all this stuff, I'm still waiting for my Screenwriting Practicum and my String Ensemble classes to be scheduled,  both of which are one credit each. Everything together is a grand total of 19 credit hours . . .although that seems like a lot, it's the same amount I had during Freshman Fall Quarter, and I survived, so I think I should be okay this time around.

Anyway, the three classes I experienced yesterday went well; in American Lit. I discovered (without surprise) that Dr. Cullen, who is also my advisor, is going to work our minds off this quarter with tons of reading; in English Studies I discovered I have entered the realm of "English major's boot camp" and that this class will be one of the most useful and important classes I'll ever take here at Ohio Northern; finally, in my once-a-week evening class of Exceptional Learner I watched a couple of videos about living in poverty and how experienced teachers deal wth commmon mental and physcial handicaps in students, and that was about it.

I watched the comedians last night too; they were pretty hilarious.

This evening/afternoon contains ONUMB's first rehearsal since Monday afternoon, and Bates is expecting all of us to be ready to march to all four songs without music for the first time. I have most of the important parts in the music memorized, but what I'm worried about is memorizing all the damn drill sequences. Oh well; we'll survive, I'm sure.

Band camp was very successful, but we were all glad to have it over with. Denise and I were especially glad that on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday we had enough time off to be able to spend time decorating and organizing our Lima suite, which is uber nice. I'm seriously glad to be here; it's qutie awesome.

Well, I woke up early on this lovely Wednesday morning so that I could get a little bit of reading done before my traditional lunch date with Stephen, so I'll chat with you all later!

So my time back at ONU has been amazing so far; amazing in the sense that the time I've spent with my friends has constantly been enjoyable to the highest degree, and amazing because ONUMB has accomplished so much in the past few days despite our limitations. Kudos to my fellow bandos! You guys seriously rock my world hard core.

Speaking of 'core' Stephen LuCore is doing quite well; we're doing well, to be specific. I simply cannot believe band camp is almost half over already; I'm feel like Time and I are metaphorically racing and Time is kicking my ass, leaving me in the dust. This is the first time I've been alone for an extended period of time since Saturday; I've been so social! Camp is definitely much more challenging this year because I'm a TBS sister and I therefore have quite a bit of responsibility, but I'm also having so much more fun than last year because I get to hang out with amazing brothers and sisters and I'm meeting several amazing incoming freshman! It's all such a rush!!!!

Anyway, I'm having serious ADD because I can't think straight with so many distractions floating around in my head, the biggest one being figuring out how the hell I'm going to repack all of my shit tonight so that I can easily move into Lima three five oh at noon this coming Friday. I should really probably start on that, shouldn't I?  Okay, I'm going to get started on repacking now, so I'll talk to y'all later!!!

[PS---Denise and I are getting along great so far, even in the conditions of our crappy Founders room! I love that girl bunches!]

Sorry it's been so long since I've last posted friends; apparently I've been busier than I thought I was.

Today is my last day of babysitting my cousin Jesse. This is the last day I'll have to watch Spongebob Squarepants, the last day I'll have to risk my life making Jesse bacon for breakfast [I've received a few grease burns throughout the summer, for there is a constant supply of bacon in this house], and the last day of my vacation from Ada, Ohio. It's strange; all summer long I've been waiting and silently complaining to myself about the dullness of summer, but now that another schoolyear is staring me in the face I'm a little nervous and subconsciously wishing I had just a little more free time to get some things done.

But hey, time keeps on moving whether you want it to or not, right? And I am definitely ready to see all of my amazing friends again, kiss Stephen again, experience living in Lima 350 with Denise, and challenge myself to the fullest potential as a student and as a soon-to-be teacher and writer.

Today will be a good day; tonight is my high school's first varsity football game! It's away at Winford HS, which is a little far from home, but my parents will take me there after I'm done babysitting. I don't care much about the football, but my old marching band is playing their first show tonight, and I'm uber excited to see them! [I'm so proud of my sister; this is her senior year, and she was elected vice president of the band!!! Hah, I'm trying to get her to go to ONU next year. . . .she's a trumpet player, so she'd be in good hands. .  .Stephen's hands would be part of that section though. . . . hmmm, maybe I don't want her to go to ONU after all ]

Well, Jesse will probably be waking up soon, so I should stop this post. Stay safe everyone, so that I may see you again soon!

Tchuss!
